We emerged into a round room whose walls were lined with multicolored spools of thread and swaths of cut fabric. At the center stood a figure, her arms moving up and down as she stitched something together in a carefully regulated rhythm.
Um... Hello?
Shoulder seams hanging a touch too low... hems of the arm a span too short. Much work to be done, this one. So, what would you like to have altered?
We're not here to get anything altered, actually... We just heard scissors snipping and thought it might be worth checking out.
So you were lured in by the sound of severance. But you should have had no cause to seek me, if nothing about you needs mending.
... And you are?
I am Annette, Alterationist. And you must be strangers.
... This one doesn't call us "customers."
<Hm... Maybe she's different from other employees of the Grand Magasin?>
We are purchasing various articles of clothing in order to raise our spending tier. Do you have any clothes for sale?
As you can see, this place you've stumbled into is quite unlike the other stores. This is not a place of exhibition, nor is it a place for finalized pieces.
This is simply where clothes are altered and what has frayed is patched up in silence.
That's not to say what I have here is impractical. Why not take with you some durable, fray-resistant fabric?
It will keep you safe where form-fitting garments fail you. They're useful for offensive maneuvers, but... quite lacking when it comes to defense.
<These do look like quality fabric, but... she doesn't exactly have that big of a collection. And why's that pair of scissors so expensive?>
Come see me if you need anything patched up. There is no fabric within Sisyphe that my fingers cannot weave.
You may have to get in line while I work on the Noirs' bulk fabric order...
... but I don't mind handling an odd job here and there, should you have any.
