The Grand Magasin must be consumed.

Even if all must eat without pause.

Some hope that this moment would never end,

Wishing that the filling would last forever,

Now everyone in this department store has turned into a pure consumer. They consume without restraint.

There's nobody left to create things.

They will all eat, wear, excrete, and consume.

They will start with their enemies - Le Noir, Le Kaki, and others who do not belong to the Rouges.

And once there is no one left to eat, they will eat each other.

This has become a momentum that cannot be stopped.

They will continue devouring each other until only a single existence remains:

Buffet. In the end, Buffet will be alone, without anyone left to keep them company.

The experiences people pursue are not simply a way to live in the present.

We want the same taste we've already tasted. The fullness. The pleasure.

New experiences are sought so we many feel those old sensations once more.

Filled, emptied, then filled again.

That is simply how we were designed. To exist in an endless cycle of yearning for something, anything.

Isn't that just too cruel?

To be fated to never know satisfaction.

And that is why the Noirs have chosen an everlasting inertness. Do you remember?

It's because they are all afraid.

Afraid of death, the Noirs nail themselves inside the memory of the past before death can come to claim them.

Afraid of death, the Rouges continue filling every passing moment with different experiences so they can let go of their selves.

Their routes of escape may look worlds apart, but every path stretches infinitely toward the same asymptote.

And what is asymptotic...

<... is not within human ability to distinguish, you said last time.>

The world outside the Grand Magasin is no different.

Only the process and the form appear different.

Everyone fears death. Everyone struggles against it in their own way.

Once someone has been thrown into the journey of life, death waits at the end of that road.

And along that road, people are made unable to remain satisfied. That is simply the way we were birthed into this world.

Why do you suppose people were made that way? Is there a reason behind it?

But I'm not interested in exploring or rewriting humanity's reason for existence, origin, or design.

Instead, it's about letting someone go through the journey of life toward death while remaining true to themselves.

Now... feeding a hungry child can hardly be called a sin.

But this child will leave nothing behind.

The gold has been torn away to the final thread.

The department store is being flayed bare... its flesh stripped from the bone as depletion closes in.

Fullness will remain forever beyond their reach, but we can still tell them...

... "Bon appétit."
